Jessica Alba’s Honest Co Settles Lawsuits
Jessica Alba’s Honest Co. to Settle False Marketing Suits for $7.35 Million
July 17, 2017
In a proposed settlement, Honest Co., the natural foods and products company founded by actor Jessica Alba, will pay $7.35 million to settle claims that its products were falsely labeled as “all natural.” If agreed to by all parties, the settlement would end four class action suits.
The settlement allows a credit or payment of $2.50 for every Honest Co. product purchased during the terms of the settlement. As well, Honest Co. would be prohibited from using the phrases “all natural,” “100% natural,” and “no harsh chemicals, ever!” in certain chemicals are in fact present in the products.
Should the settlement be accepted, it would not constitute an admission of liability on the part of Honest Co. The suits have been in process in courts in New York and California.
