Nissan faulty timing chains suit
Lawsuits Filed against Nissan for Faulty Timing Chains
July 24, 2017
A group of Nissan drivers have petitioned a California federal judge to keep their class action suit against the automaker alive, saying that they can demonstrate that the timing chain tensioning system on their vehicles is dangerously defective.
The drivers claim that the timing chain tensioning systems can impair their vehicles’ abilities to accelerate, maintain speed, and/idle smoothly, and that they may be to blame for engine failure.
Nissan maintains that the claims are unfounded, and that the drivers have been unable to prove that any existing problems pose any unreasonable hazards.
The drivers argue that their claims of breach of warranty should remain valid, so long as they can produce the demonstrable evidence that they state that they possess.
No rulings have yet been issued in the matter.
